Once he obtained the degree of Engineer, Di Tella introduced the assembly line production and the scientific organization of labor into the national industry. He enthusiastically devoted himself both to philanthropic activities and to develop his company, SIAM Di Tella, which turned into the most important industrial group in Latin America.

A democrat by conviction, Di Tella actively fought against fascism in Italia. In addition, he held the position of Professor of Economy at the University of Buenos Aires and formed a collection of paintings that nowadays enriches the heritage of the National Museum of Fine Arts.
Di Tella was a member of the Board of the Industrial Union, he represented Argentina at the International Labor Conference, he drafted bills for labor and social security legislation, wrote books and gave lectures on these subjects. Briefly speaking, he represented the potential of a country convinced of having a future.
